i'll take my first puff before my first sip, but then repeat until one of them finishes. for some reason i would need to have a drink with each smoke (be it water/coffee/whatever) because my throat would get dry right away.

shit, nevermind, ur talking about pot. well, that used to be even more harsh to my throat so u can imagine how much i'd need to drink after each stoke...and the days i used to smoke up i didn't touch alcohol so i'd stick with coke lol.
