ive been using Shure SCL-2K for 2 years now. they are great sound but the wires are mega crap! they crack or have poor contact, etc. i have owned 3 of these headphones, returning for new ones all the time. I actually just returned now for the 4th time this Saturday to Dorval,QC SF Marketing. they do this stuff.
my warranty runs out in December initially. but back in March i upgraded to SE210 cuz they have better made wires. but the sound was so horrible (and they cost more haha) so i returned for SCL-2K again. thing is, when i upgraded to se210, my warranty was also automatically upgraded for ANOTHER 2 years! AND when i returned them, the warranty did not change. so thats a good thing with Shure. you can be damn shure you;ll have the headphones theoretically ur whole life lol. well theoretically until Shure goes bankrupt..

I am not sure what price range you are looking in, but if you aren't wanting to spend a whole lot of money, I recommend SkullCandy.

I personally love my SkullCandy earbuds....better than any other pair I've owned.

If you care primarily about bass i can recommend the v-moda in ear phones.

If you want good sound all around. For cheap i would recommend the westone UM 1. Excellent noise cancellation with comply in ear tips and very comfortable.

For higher price the weston um 2 with dual drivers is excellent.

I highly recommend reading a few reviews on the westone in ear phones. The quality and sound are great and the comply foam tips are amazing at drowning out all the background sounds.

I got mine from www.earphonesolutions.com

Earbuds are really bad for your ears. I suppose noise canceling buds are not as bad because theoretically you can have the volume lower. Mom advice aside, I'd say generally you can't go wrong with Sennheiser.

I got the Sennheiser xc500, and they are amazing. Fuckin Germans man... they got it all down. They give you a little holder, which holds your earphones and you can wrap your coil around it. Then you also get a small leather pouch, ingenious!

In term of sound quality: it's amazing on all levels (so far... I haven't done a thorough test with some dubstep). However, it's as if the bass is on the low side, but that could be the reasult of either:
1. I'm bass spoiled.
2. The driver is not really ideal for music, ie my BlackBerry.

regarding cx500, i recently got those, for 20 dollars shipping included from ebay . They sound ok, but nothing spectacular and uncomfortable to wear because they plug inside the ear (but i cannot compare to other in ear earbuds bc these are my first ones like that). I like my new beyerdynamics 990dt much more tho ))).
