And thanks for listening. It gives me a bit of confidence when I know there are people who will try a mix if I put it up. I appreciate that.

Thanks a lot. If you're talking about the transition I'm thinking of, I know what you mean. There were a couple of moments when the mix really wasn't working and I had to just bring the track in all in one go when some of the rhythm cut out.

There we go. Haven't had time to listen properly yet, only about half... but I like what I'm hearing (surprisingly enough).

Thanks a lot for the hosting. Much appreciated.

Nice mix of tracks I knew and ones I didn't. Sounds like you're a stickler for key signatures too which really makes it coherent and Northern Exposure-y.

Off all the music I own, and that's a shit load, I've always thought Northern Exposure to be among the very best. Part 1, CD 1 is sensational.

I'll certainly d/l this

Great idea - cheers

I'm actually pretty intuitive with harmonic mixing- I don't work out the keys of any of the tracks I use and I find out if they're in key simply by trying out the mix and seeing how they sound. I only really had to change a couple of tracks in this mix because of harmonic issues- the bulk of the mix just fell into place naturally.

Thanks for the feedback, anyway.

Ah well, it sounds good anyways. In my mind harmonic mixing is more avoiding unpleasant key changes than only choosing good ones.

Just followed a link to this and was pleased to see it had a permanent link... I do most of my TA mix listening at work, and unfortunately all those Megaupload/Sendspace/etc sites are blocked. I've been meaning to d/l the Epic House trilogy for a while but can't because of that. Sooo, anyways...

I really dug the mix, most especially the track selection and progression. I'm a very big fan of that late 90's, early 00's prog and spacey breaks sound, and this mix delivered in spades. I heard a few great tunes that I wasn't familiar with, and the Heaven Scent/Lifeline mashup does it for me every single time. The in-key mixing was pretty good though like another poster said, at times the levels didn't seem entirely even. Perhaps planning out and doing a trial run before the recorded one would be a bit beneficial.

Thanks for the feedback.

A few people have commented about the levels on this one. Someone also commented that a couple of the tracks sound noticably newer or better mastered than others, because of the time difference when they were made. That might have something to do with it, because there's brand new tracks here next to ones from ten years ago and so there's the issue of noticable advances in recording quality when the tracks are mixed in with each other.

Either way, it's something I'll try to iron out in the future. About the Megaupload problem, I don't have webspace of my own so permanent hosting on this one was down to Mr Mystery's generosity. I should really get some of my own the next time I've got a bit of spare cash.
