guys, are there different types of AKG 240S? like semi open and circumaural stereo? are they the same thing?

if they're different, which one is better for mixing?

I got AKG K271 Studio and they are aful to use in comparison to whats going on when you listen to my Yamaha HS50M monitors.

Two totally different sounds

I have AKG K240M's. Don't really need them for anything nowadays. I used to use them when I was living with my parents. Nowadays everything I here - any time of the day - comes from Yamaha HS80M's. (highly recommended btw)

my 240s' came in today and i've played around in a daw for the past hour or so and i've yet to get use to the sound of the akg 240s'...pretty different considering i've been using crappy 40$ logitech headphones for the past year and a half or so

don't forget headphones take a little while to break in as well

so you got the studio ones, or the MK IIs?

oh, i forgot about the break in theory. just have to keep using headphones for a while right? i bought the studio's, they were going for 100 usd

The 240s don't need to be broken in much. A few hours at moderate volume should loosen them up enough.
