I had the same problem back on FL, switched to Logic 8 and it works perfectly. Wont turn this into a bashing FL session as that piece of software taught me so much, but it's handling of external hardware is a gaping inadequacy.

I tried reaper, although the integraion seems smoother there was
still a delay from key press to sound, i thought maybe i was being
too picky however i tried ableton live and it works perfect now.
