Hey, that's what comes from a kind of music becoming popular: a bunch of wannabes and dilettantes trying their hand at it.

guitar hero is big fun, so why DJ hero wouldnt be..?

its all about making money anyway so it was just a matter of time.

I wonder if its also possible to train wreck and stuff? In the end it is Tiesto related

just kidding, i will prolly play it next year and have lots of fun with it with friends and beer, just like with guitar hero

Just because someone has guitar hero doesnt make them go out and learn guitar.

Real dj's will still be separate from beginners and wannabe's. Nothing to worry about IMO.

The "barrier" of beatmatching? You really still think beatmatching is that important?

Puh-lease.

On-topic: there will always be people who follow the mainstream and don't make their own decisions (hey, top40) and have no own taste. Thanks, Tijs, for starting to cater to that crowd, you wanker.

Not important at all, musically speaking. It's just that learning to sync up two records consistently used to be a basic requirement of DJing, and that provided a bit of an initial hurdle to climb, so that people who weren't willing to put forth that effort would get weeded out. IMO that was a good thing.

It's one of the skills needed.

Or was.

Its a game, bit of fun. I use to have hours messing around on 'music' on the playstation, but I knew I was never going to produce a good track!!

You play baseball and bowling on the wii, you could argue why don't those people go out and play it for real!

I know DJ's who STILL train wreck the fuck outta stuff even with ableton.

It's really, really embarrasing.
