Got there before midnight, place was already busy. Guess this was a more typical sized crowd than the Cox night, as there was ample room to dance on the main floor. Walked around a bit checking out the other rooms and still managed to lose my bearings a few times! Hung out on the 2nd floor landing and ran into some TAs (nice to meet you preppie chick).
So I did not like the opening dj. Sure, I understand that the art of a proper warm-up set is dying but is it really necessary to play that hard before midnight? Especially when the headliner is known for not playing hard sets?
Warren came on at 1 and proceeded to launch into a beautifully warm, lush set. A true master behind the decks, he interacted well with the crowd and looked to be having a great time. So I was completely disappointed when at 3am another dj started. Are you serious - a 2 hour set?? Not sure why this happened but I'd have expected at least 3 hours.
