I don't get you guys, even if the song sounded terrible I would still say I had fun. Is that not why people make music because its enjoyable?
Also its split down the middle half saying its excellent half saying its awful so how could I please everyones ears and also why would I want to. When I made the song I didnt actually start out thinking This is gonna rock Trance addict in fact I envy the tracks on here. I wrote the song because it was fun, and the studio was fun, listening to it was fun.
"this thread is pointless" - You have no basis for that arguement even if you did it is subjective and based on opinion. The thread was a happy producer who had made some progress looking to share. At what point did I say software is awful and hardware is great. In fact I said i used everything and got a nice sound IMO.
Oh and thanks styles |
Couple a things
Feeling like a real producer != being a real producer. WTF is a real producer anyway? Like one that you haven't imagined?
You haven't rocked tranceaddict, you're not that important, even if you are a "real producer"
@ all the haters: This thread has a point, if your not interested in it then don't look at it. I'm personally interested in hearing the difference that analogue summing really makes...
So sonic, please explain exactly from start to finish what you did in each of those examples. Did you take your finished track (exported as stems) into the studio and run each stem through the analogue desk mixing it as you went? Or did you just run it through the desk, rerecord it and take it home to mix?
Need more info thanks. Obviously if you ran one through an analogue tube compressor, then never mastered the other one at all, they're going to sound different. I'd be more interested if you now went to a lot of trouble on the waves plugins to try and recreate the sound of the analogue desk and tube comp, using only software, then we'd really see whether it was possible to make music of equal quality using either approach.
