Not a bad weapon if you are planning to only take it to the range for practice. The action is pretty good and has minimal recoil. Taurus' best weapon is the 24/7 sp-15 .40, imo.

9mm are fun to shoot. But if you are buying a weapon for security or defense, they don't have the necessary stopping power that a .40 or .357 have.

My advice is also Glock or Smith & Wesson MP. I'm former law enforcement. So I can get the military issue for the S&W.

yea, that's the plan for this one. my next will be a .40 or .45. i'm planning on shooting the Taurus 24/7 SS .40 that my buddy has tomorrow. can't wait.

Yea, my Mom actually likes the idea of having a gun in the house. I was totally confused when i told her i bought the gun. I thought i'd be in the dog house for at least a month. Only my dad and my brother and he's 18. i plan on trying to get them all to come out and shoot it a little. I shot my 9mm and a few of the Taurus 24/7 SS .40 that my friend brought. I like that .40, but i'm definitely gonna save up for a Springfield or 1911

Btw...here's my target from my first shoot Sunday afternoon. I was in the 15-yard portion (figure if i can get accurate at 15 yards, i can do it easily from 5). I'm surprised i hit the target, much less hit a few in the center. First time shooting a gun in a very long time.

Wow, that is awful. Get back to the range and practice.


Some pointers:

When pulling the trigger, try not to anticipate the round firing. Let it surprise you! If not, then your rounds will be either at the top or bottom of your target.

If your round is to the right of the target, then you are pulling the trigger to the right and not straight back.

If your round is to the left of the target, then you are pushing the trigger to the left and not straight back.

Possible Solution: Use the tip of your finger to pull the trigger and PRACTICE.

I'll try to find a good picture of how to grip the pistol.

Yep always remember to have a surprise trigger break and to use the tip of your finger on the trigger (don't wrap your finger around the trigger).

Just use .44 special rounds then if you think magnum rounds are too powerful. I have a Glock 23, and my opinion is that it sucks.
