haven't your music tastes changed in time? mine certainly have, i think it's natural that a DJ's tastes would too, how drastically would depend from one to the other. i'm sure they keep a special place for all the tracks that meant something back in the day for them and used to get huge reactions but if everyone else is moving on from the sound it's going to sound like a wayback playback night if you just want to listen to them for nostalgia. artists that always keep the exact same sound (e.g. the strokes, on every track) die a quick death, others that change up and make artistic decisions based on the changes within their genre and surrounding genres (e.g. justin timberlake) will lose some fans and make new ones for what they do, the old fans will still love them for what they used to do and hopefully remember fondly, the new ones will appreciate the evolution of the music
