FIXED

Canadian's don't know how to develop and run systems. This is why most canadian based employers are an absolute mess when it comes to management and proper communication and efficiency. I would argue it's the number one reason why Canadians are 2nd most stressed out in the world.

The survey suggests better communication between bosses and staff about what's expected - and what's realistic - will go a long way towards easing that stress.

huge +1

i went from a work environment where no one spoke and every level of management was afraid of each other so nothing got accomplished to one where its open lines of communication and its emphatically stressed that no question is too small or too big and everyone has an open door policy. my job now, even though i work more hours - i am not the least stressed out, and actually enjoy and have a lot of ownership for what i do.

I love working for a small(ish) company. No stress at all. Then again, I'm pretty stress-free normally anyway.

That, and China. There is no way CANADIANS are more intense on the job than the communists.

The article also says nothing about who was surveyed - isn't Kelly services a temp agency?

And re. Japan jobs being so stressful they've led to suicides - that's becoming more and more common in the US and the UK, with some well publicised instances in recent months.

I'm guessing you meant you're "now" the least stressed out.

But that's not the imagine I get from the texts I get everyday. Haha...Though I'm sure I'm only hearing the worst of it, as I doubt you'd be texting me saying "I'm having the best day ever and I'm so non-stressed" hehe

I also maintain an open-door policy: You can come to my office with any issue at any time of day and I will calmly tell you to fuck off and let me do my job without constant interruptions.

I find that this is an excellent system for minimizing stress. At least my own stress.
