Both him and Tiesto are where i got my start and to compare them from when i started to now, i would never think of listening to them. Armin's ASOT radio shows used to kick so much ass and i would listen to them religiously every week. i don't think i've made it all the way through an episode now for over a month. recently, i haven't listened to any at all. i just got tired of hoping that he would improve and being let down every week.

can you upload the 05 one for me.

I don't really understand the taste of Texas TAs in this forum. I remember in another thread people bashing ASOT 2006 and 2007, while for me those are probably my favorite ASOT's and ones that I still listen to reguarly. If the issue is that trance has deviated from its original meaning, then why did this forum go nuts about Deadmau5 touring in Texas? Cause he's certainly NOT trance.

As far as the yearmix is concerned, it is a "democratically chosen" tracklist, so if you don't like it, then get out there and vote. Whether or not what really is meant by "trance" has been hijacked by the likes of DJ Sammy is pretty irrelevant to me; I like what I hear and don't really bother with the labels. Besides, where does one draw the line between what is purely "trance," "progressive," "dance," etc.? If you wiki "trance" you don't get a clear cut entry - it's more like 3 pages and pretty vague. But even if the trance scene has changed over the years, big deal - to think that it wouldn't change is naive. That's true of even other musical genres.

All I can say is that I liked this year and overall really like the Year Mix. That doesn't mean some tracks on there don't really suck:

Moussa Clarke & Terrafunka - She Wants Him
Mark Knight & Funkagenda - Man With The Red Face
Morgan Page feat. Lissie -The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix) (does she really say "giddy-up"?)
First State feat Elliot Johns - Your Own Way
Sia - The Girl You Lost To Cocaine (Sander Van Doorn Remix)

Maybe I just haven't been following the scene long enough to be nostalgic of when it supposedly was different. I was first drawn to trance by Paul Oakenfold, who unquestionably has sold out now, and DJ Tiesto (when he used to keep the "DJ" prefix), but if it weren't for DJs like Above & Beyond, Super8 & Tab, and other uplifters, I wouldn't keep the faith.

Music is always changing. You have to change with it or stay left behind.

Where do you want me to upload it to? I know most people don't like ralidshare and that's what I usually use, but if you want it somewhere else, let me know.
