I would class guru, battery etc as just drum samplers. If you want a drummachine for electronic music i would suggest elektron's machinedrum. The sequencer and synthesis capabilities are awesome. I wouldn't bother with a classic machine like the 808 or 909 unless you really love the sound.

The machinedrum is really great although I prefer JoMox, but he is looking for software.
