Since Whisky Saigon changed it's name to Joe, years ago, i think they still carried the Sunday 80's night... not sure though.

Oh god.. listening to retro sundays on The Edge was like a religion to me. Sadly the only time I made it out to Whiskey Saigon was on the very last night it was open. My friends and I lived in Ajax at the time and waited around downtown Toronto until 6AM to catch the first go train back in the morning, lol. It'll always be the first club that introduced me to sick lasers. Guv has since opened my eyes further.
Whiskey reopened a few months later as Joe and they continued 80s with The Edge on Sundays for a couple years before Joe closed down completely. I walked by the building the other week and it's still vacant. I'm glad to see Velvet Underground seems to be working for them. My only gripe with retro sundays now is that with each passing year they add more music from the 90s. Their idea of retro now is anything from 96 or earlier.

Club 102 Saturdays at The Phoenix still exists and I'm pretty sure they still do 80s in the parlour  My roommate went there about 2 months ago and said the place isn't nearly as busy as it was in it's hayday. I'm still impressed they've managed to keep going after 13-15 years.

p.s. - I have a whole tonne of old Edge @ Joe, The Phoenix, The Kingdom, The Mod Club and Velvet Underground shows. A lot of them are 5 hours long. If anyone wants a trip down memory lane send me a PM.
