Thanks for not being offensive to/mean/nasty/critical of christians and for not using any emotive language. Real good of you. I can see you took the time to be diplomatic and avoid upsetting anyone by saying what christians believe in is bullshit and not just saying no I don't believe in heaven & hell or even giving some reasons...
I believe in both heaven & hell. |
ok, u want some reasons?
first of all, for all observing purposes, we are carbon-based lifeforms in a large, single entity called the Universe. We die, we decompose, we are concious because we have self-aware brains.
No magic, no souls, no anything.
Now there is this idea that there is a Heaven and Hell brought forth by PEOPLE (not from God's booming voice, but by people.) and certain requirements to get to each. Now this is not a rare occurance that would mean something remarkable must have happened, like God talking to those people. No, it happened in practically every society, but all in many different ways.
Tell me how you can pick one idea created by people, defying all observation, out of the thousands of similar ideas, and claim that is correct? What are the odds that this group of humans is right? Why should any of them be right?
Basically, the ideas of souls and heaven and hell, God and Jesus, are spectacular claims, therefore they need spectacular evidence. They have none. Why can't we just observe and discover, rather than assume that "the bible and Jesus are the answer." or the Koran, or Buddha, or the Native American spirits, or Greek/Roman mythology...
The only way we can learn about our universe is to discover and observe, not to assume rediculous claims.
