Is this the first time using the ps3 on this particular tv..??

I had the same problem and to fix it I had to uncheck the 720p box on my display settings.

Otherwise try posting your problem in the PS3 forums and see if anyone from there can assist you some more.

No, it's been setup for sometime but thanks. Again, even the customer service guy had never heard of this problem either...

Ok, so I just came back from Sony and they no longer repair PS3's there. She gave me the US number to call and said you have to call them but that there is a local repair facility.

I called and got someone right away on the phone. He had never heard of any such problems so it has to be sent in. It will cost $169 to repair and they pay for shipping. Will take 3-4 business days and most likey they will just ship a refurbished model. Pretty easy and painless really....

Thanks again guys!

dude. you could always buy a new system switch the crappy one with the new one box it up and return it. problem solved. just make sure when you buy the system to get a blowdryer to lossen the glue on the sticker that is over the flap on the box so you can reseal it. if you dont do that the store will not accept the return.

mind you, if you are a person of ethics this may not be the solution for you. it is essentially stealing directly from sony

LOL!!!!!

Actually, I went and bought another one so I could still play but I'm returning it before the deadline. They will accept it returned if opened, in fact I bet they would open a sealed one just to check. People are smater than you think nowadays.

Anyway, I would rather pay the $169 to fix mine. I don't need do that.

They won't open a sealed one. They then can no longer sell it as new. deminishs profits.
