Don't forget a good pair of ears!

Actually, I made some of my first tunes (which I posted waaay back on the TA forums) with a Pentium III 350MHz, 256MB RAM and sound blaster audigy soundcard and Sennheiser HD 280Pro's (which I still have now). Of course anything plus helps you determine further how your music sounds like.

Building you r own computer is a great way to start. You know exactly what is in it, plus it comes with OEM OS so your computer is very streamlined and doe not have all the nonsense programs and demo software. I just built my own and it was very satisfying
