If you go to Spec's you'll only find the small 12 oz bottles, which fckn sucks because at $9 for the 750mL you get more than $5 for the 12 oz. Tremens is almost like Tripel Karmeliet, though. I'd rather spend the $10 on a bottle of TK.
I tried Smithwicks at Hauns Beir Haus during the summer. I don't know why, but I think I enjoy that beer at room temperature rather then it being ice cold. It looses carbonation like uber quick.
Blue Moon is the bomb, but if you dont want to spend the time cutting up slices of orange to put in the glass, go out and buy a pack of Hoegaarden. It's fckn bad ass with the tangy orange spices in it. Goes great with some Mahi Mahi or Swordfish IMO.
I still need to get my hands on that Asian stuff, Sapporo. Is it anything like Tsing-Tao? |
Have never tried Tripel Karmeliet but I'll put it on the list. I'm totally with you on serving Smithwick's closer to room temp. Same with Guinness - seems like you lose a lot of the flavour when it's cold. Hoegaarden ftw.
Sapporo Draft is one of my favourite lagers, very smooth and crisp but still has good flavour. Not really like Tsing Tao which is mildly hoppy Pilsner. Both great beers nonetheless.
