I've heard that he had big problems with drugs...and that it was the reason because he "disappeared" from the scene for a while.

I was at that festival, and knew about the Desyn party afterwards. Unfortunately at the time, I didn't know who he was, so decided against going. Biggest mistake of my life. His recorded sets from that time are absolutely phenomenal. I'm sure he destroyed the place.

EDIT: Yes, his glory years were '04, '05 & '06. He still brought the funk pretty good for '07, but '08 has been a little bit of a disappointment. I'm hoping 2009 will be a better year for him. I personally think '08 wasn't as good, because the entire year he's been touring with SOS. I prefer his solo sets to that of the collective.

can't a dj dwindle into mediocrity up his own ass (and nose) without you people getting all huffy?

Desyn Masiello has never played anything even remotely minimal.

Perhaps 'minimal' was meant in relative terms, not in EDM_genre-terms

:thumbscrossed: for Desyn bringing back the funk in 2009.
:hopesarelow: for that to happen ...

He just took an alternative route...

lol Masiello not playing off his face would be more surprising. He seems like a nice guy though, got him to sign my copy of Xristophan.

Please bring back Alternative Route and music of that sort...
