There are some great videos on youtube - the Damascan swords used in the Crusades have been found to contain nanoparticles because of the way the blades were forged. The nanoparticles are why they were so razor sharp and could slash through silk in the air because they made the surface so hard it could be sharpened that much.

This device is pretty cool too. Still ways off, but it's totally within the realm of possibilities.
