Hmm.. It will be VERY interesting to see what it looks like.

Maybe it will be a plugin?

Not gonna happen. The Phatty is pretty cheap as it is.

but having it attached to that keyboard is just a waste of money. I don't need that, so why the hell would I pay for it? They came out with a rack of the voyager, they definitely should do the same with the LP.

Yeah, but its a very live oriented synthesizer, so i highly doubt they will make it.

One can hope ofcourse.

True, but so is the Voyager and Moog made the RME. With all the keyboard controllers available today and the fact that virtually everyone has at least one, there doesn't seem to be a good reason not to provide a module version. Especially when you consider the recession - it seems like it would be in Moog's best interest to provide an affordable version of the LP. Look at the sales of the Mopho and Blofeld - both DSI and Waldorf have had problems keeping up with the demand. An affordable rackmount LP would probably take the market by storm.

Back OT - if/when Access gets around to updating the TI, I'm hoping/betting that it will use FW and all 16 parts will be independently available.

If they do announce a new TI at NAMM, then the question is how long until it is available for purchase? A friend of mine who works for a big synth repair house said he had heard rumors that Access was cooking up something.

I just have to believe that whatever they announce will be immediately available, because I don't see how they can keep their revenue streams active with only ONE hardware product.

I remember the release date of the Ti was at least a year after they announced it, maybe more. It kept on getting pushed back because of software bugs... and then they just released it, bugs and all.

Yeah, I remember when all that was going on.

I have to wonder, though if this launch won't go a bit more smoothly. I mean, the TI was a brand new concept, both hardware and software, so I would expect loads of bugs. Anytime you put out a 1.0 product, there is going to be problems, its just the nature of the beast. With a "version 2", as it were, you'd think that they would have learned a few things and applied those lessons to the new version. Maybe this is one of the reasons WHY they are putting out a version 2, so they can incorporate the "lessons learned" from the first version.

Obviously this is all speculation on my part. I suppose we'll know by the end of next week at the latest.

if they are going to release a MKII they will use USB2 for sure. and somehow i doubt that they can add something really innovative into the same product. i would prefer a new synth from access which is very different to the virus lineup.

See I would agree with this if they had not discontinued the entire TI line. However, I can't see any other reason why you would discontinue your ENTIRE flagship product line unless you were planning on releasing an upgrade to that same line. It just doesn't make any business sense.

About time too. The total integration has been horrific and still doesn't work properly on many occasions. They better redeem themselves.
