I really enjoyed this. I agree that using that Placebo track was a bit silly, though I'm glad you put it there and not in the middle so it could be skipped.
I didn't have any issues with the mixing, it seemed pretty smooth, though a few at the very end were a bit rough.
In terms of flow, the first half felt a little bit slow, but once you hit around the twenty-five minute mark, I really started to get into this. I liked the track with the repeating arps almost bang on thirty minutes. I think the track selection in the second half was a lot more interesting too, though there wasn't a song I actually disliked in the whole thing (except Placebo). That Extrawelt track is nice too, I'm glad I listened if for no other reason than just to discover this!
Regarding the genre, I'm not well versed on this kind of music, but it's definitely not tech-house. I'm keen to know what more knowledgeable people would call it. In the first half it could be called ambient or dub techno perhaps? Some of it is was very melodic and atmospheric.
Great work, look forward to the next one. For some reason, the title of this mix seems amazingly appropriate. I'm not sure why, I think maybe it's the airy, desolate feel of some of the tracks, making them give off the same vibe as the picture you've used?
