are you really so dense as to divide the world into two groups of people?

anyways, trance began as an anti-establishment music invented by hippies and iconoclasts, so i don't see what your hollow defamation of 'anti-establishment hipsters' has to do with anything...

you really think you've got this figure out, don't you? lol

Ban the baldies and let the unicorn musketeers shit up gay house threads as much as the vice-versa is done Montana

I think Mattsanity has had fewer incidents other members (even with the death threats) on MD than some of the other members who see it necessary to enter in on every Armin/Tiesto/Christ thread to ridicule, belittle and claim superiority (and deny jealousy or living in basements or the etc).

We all have different tastes, sometimes we move onto other genres, and at some point, we mature from Alice Deejay to Darude. Let everyone find their path in peace, or as a community, with some guidance.

Cheers!

(but it's still really funny how Armin can fit 40 songs onto a single hour mix)

Extreme behaviour calls for extreme example.
I'm only talking about people related to the trance-scene, people who either participate in or comment on it.
Are you that dense not to understand that?

LOL, current trance is not anymore about anti-establishment and does not give comfort to hippies and iconoclasts alike.
With anti-establishment hipsters i mean those people who go against the current established trance scene, criticize it and think it's cool to do so.
Looking at my post in the context of this thread, it should be very clear what i'm talking about.
It's just that in my view you just don't want to agree with what i'm saying and try to disrupt my arguments by questioning my abilities to think.

Well, you figure it out...

Anyway, i'm with MrJiveBoJingles and SuspicionVandit on this one, it's time to stop the senseless and relentless criticism of everything trance.
It's so old now that it's usable as a bioweapon.

Ouch, yep... I too much time on the cynical old internet isn't good for you, it took a while for me to realise.

BTW, the unicorn references are to an alt that made a "genre" called unicorn trance. Not really much association between mainstream trance and unicorns afaik. I take it you missed that alt,

Also, ignore list.

Sure, it may give you a little momentary thrill to insert a "unicorn" reference or whatever, and I've done it myself on occasion, but isn't this kind of cheap shot pointlessly negative? It isn't productive like actual criticism, which might cause a few of those "naive" little trancers to reconsider their listening choices a bit.

I'm starting to think that there's an epidemic going around, a certain mixture of cynicism and sarcasm, a superficial way that people have of putting on an air of "worldliness." At first it's kind of attractive and it seems like nobody's opinion can touch you when you have an arsenal of ridicule and "parody" built up and ready to fire, but after a while it starts to seem really empty, meaningless, tedious...at least to me.

Are unguarded earnestness and general positivity things of the past? Attributes that can be possessed only by naive youngsters?

If anyone who reads this has some ridicule and bubbling sarcastic energy stored up inside, why not just let it fade away this time around?

I cant say I've been here as long as you, but in my time its always been the way you've described.
But I kind of like it and whilst trying not to sound like a kiss ass, people like you, nefardec, system - J as well as various others offer imho a great insight into trance and music in general unlike another trance forum...

Nowadays people that post here looking for trance just get laughed at. Most people on this site don't even care or listen to trance anyways.

MD maybe, but look at all the posts in the tracklisting forum.

Yeah, like anything is considered with "anti-establishment" in EDM these days!

Most of the people who vote in that poll don't often post in the MD.

I think you'll find people here are more than willing to be helpful to new fans (yes, even for mainstream trance) so long as they display a degree of maturity and willing curiosity in their conduct.

Fact is, most of the strict "OMGIDIEASOTRULZ!!" type of folk are only in the scene for around four-to-five years, then they either start with the "what happened to trance?" posts, or they aren't into the scene anymore. After a while, you get rather indifferent about their enthusiasm when you know it's fleeting.
