Some people can figure out a computer like that. But they may not be able to figure out how to make music the old way.

So say someone has a crazy idea for a song that is totally different then anything out there but only knows how to use a computer to put their ideas down. If we didnt have the technology we have today we might not get to hear a genus at work. If you are mad at how easy the software is to use to make songs... just wait till they really get going on the software. Everyone and their mother will be creating. Embrace technology or be left behind.

I'm mad at the quality of music being produced. Producers are flooding the market with tracks in hopes that one of their tracks will be the next big thing so they can make a few dollars. With technology making it easier and easier for people to produce tracks you are getting more basement producers flooding the market with low quality tracks....and especially in north america....a track doesn't have to be good in order to get played.

I agree but still i am 100% for technology. There are way too many garbage tracks but maybe thats the thing we have to change. Somehow regulate the tracks coming out instead of not creating a program to make it easer to make the music.

I always say, doesn't matter the medium, genius will arise where it may. New tech, old tech, it doesn't matter - now we just have more opportunity to hear the expression of the human consciousness. Bring it on.

I thought so... I thought so.

That logic might prove correct if it weren't for the huge influx of indie and digital labels that have sprung up over the past 5 years. In fact, with enough determination and persistence, one could get just about any shitty track signed and played; one wouldn't necessarily stand to make any money from these half-baked enterprises, but that is another story.

MIDI is just a communications and timing protocol; you're probably thinking of the cheesy General MIDI synthesis built into the old Amigas and Sound Blaster cards, but those are just a narrow subset of the standard.

There's no comeback, because it never went away for producers; it's just spreading to the DJ market now.

if you want to make a career out of producing music then it should come at a cost....which you would make back in the product you sell.
