it's good, but i like the older stuff better. this album reminds me of m83 quite a bit, not necessarily in a bad way. favorite track is #1

Upon second listen this album is getting more "meh" for me. I've grown to liking "Your Mouth" a bit better though.

agreed, it sounds more "pop-y" than their previous albums, and as i said before it totally sounds like an m83 album. definitely like sasha's remix of "you are the..." more than the original too. the album as a whole sounds pretty raw and almost unfinished, as opposed to their previous albums which were produced really well and had a crisp, clean sound to it if you know what i mean. or perhaps i've smoked too much crack.

They haven't hidden the fact its meant to be different to their earlier work - in fact one of them did a little interview type thing outling the process behind the creation of it which states as much.

Fahrenheit Fair Enough is far better. This is ... safer. They used way more vocals, more reserved time signature, etc. It is not as adventurous. I doubt I will listen to the album again, but I still listen to FFE often.

i thought the same thing about "map of what is effortless", so i wasn't necessarily surprised by the amount of vocals on this one

This was god but not as brilliant as the previous ones. Map of what is effortless is just a masterpiece and a classic to me.
