bro ive handled a 450million US dollar brand in 15 countries with 60 people reporting to me as AVP for brand marketing...
since youve worked for nine years WITH sales and marketing, then Im sure you know there is no way a Full Service Ad Agency, be it McCann, Dentsu, Saatchi or Ogilvy will do an execution like this as as part of a comprehensive intergrated plan borne out of a Communication Brief or if its just a campaign, then a Creative Brief...
Utter lack of positioning statements, reasons to believe or to raise a real question in the minds of the consumer that can be answered later on betrays what this "thing" is...

im sure people know its coming....a lil more info would have helped to TEASE it a lil better.......with WMC the following week, they should be able to have a to HUGE lineup......wouldnt u think?

Sure lets do this, I am incorrect in saying its Press Release. Its a PR release. Its more Publics Relations Release more than anything. But it all goes under PR.
Refer to body copy. Take that out, put it on an email and send it to the press to write about...double spaced, 14 font, for Immediate Release to all media contacts.
Just because they put it in a flyer, does not make it a teaser. It tries to be a teaser but fails miserably to do so.
Its like a DJ trying to be a DJ by looking like a DJ, with all the records, all the songs, all the equipment. He still is not a DJ, right?
