ive always hated denon's spinning platters. good idea, but does it really help scratching? honest question since i dont scratch.

i do however love their smaller models (cdj2/400 range). i loved the dn-s1000 but the .1 pitch accuracy was a bit bothersome. just recently picked up the dn-s1200 for the .02 pitch, the ability to use a hard drive with usb 2.0 instead of 1.1 (cdj 400), and the touch sensitive jog wheel...great little thing, even though i havent touched my shit in a few weeks. lol.

but i think if denon were to slim down the features and get a touch sensitive jog wheel like the dn-s1200 on their larger models, i think it COULD compete on the level as the cdj 800/1000. but pioneer has such a huge market hold on that aspect, denon is always going to be second. you have to think why pioneer hasnt had to make different cd decks every other year like denon.

1200 is really a great piece of equibment that is hiddent away from the masses ... not manny people know about it , or what it is capable of ,
i went back and forth between pioneer and denon in the past 3 years , and finally landed on this one , best feel , features and controll you'll ever get , usb , midi , cd (witch i can't care less about)
and zero i mean zero incidents ...

the waveform display looks frickin awesome, it's what i've been waiting for in a cd deck for a long time. regardless, i'd still rather spend 1100 bucks on a high end pio than this unit. also i've had numerous problems with s3500 with reading mp3 cd's.
