Well, let's just say this: Don't believe every bit of hearsay that comes from someone else than the artist or the artist's record company, and you shouldn't repeat something as a fact if you don't know for sure.
I've got a record contract and a publishing contract. Also, in Finland you pretty much can't transfer copyrights, you can't sell them.
Let's just say this as well: the collection of publishing $ doesn't seem to be the easiest task in US. |
Not sure who you have doing your publishing but all I know is that you're sitting on a publishing gold mine. Having it played at football, basketball, baseball, hockey games, superbowl, retail outlet stores ... I don't even wanna think about what those checks amount to

VDub, I remember that Guvernment gig... I wear 15dB plugs when I play, and still my ears were hurting all thru the set. I'm glad it wasn't my regular 2-3hr set, because I was afraid I'll bust my ears. I took the master down a little quite soon after I started, and someone came to crank it back up again... Trust me, I like my music loud, but that was a bit on the ridiculous side. I like Guvernment in general though and I don't mean to be negative, but that night was just too loud in my opinion.
mUSER, I'm not ASCAP-registered, I'm registered to a comparable organization in Finland, and eventhough there are agreements between different organizations in different countries it seems not having someone physically in a country creates a few extra bumps on the road.
