Not every album has to be artistically inclined. I'd take something like Cobblestone Jazz's last album over this any day of the week. But that doesn't take away from the merit these tracks have or would have in a dance environment. It's a dance album, nothing more nothing less.

Everything has been done, even your favorite producers tracks have been done already. The album is solid, every track is decently produced and arranged. There is a good vibe in there. It doesnt reinvent any wheels, but what it is doin it does well. That said, try to respect the work artists put into their music, especially the work that goes into something like an LP.

I just don't like any of it is all. I think there are more tasteful and interesting examples of this style of music coming out right now, and those are the ones that I play. This wasn't terrible by any stretch, it just wasn't inspiring to me.

you make a very good point, it seems as if most well known producers are moving towards the old chicago/detroit vibe, and it's all good in my opinion. I think it's a breath of fresh air to see how most musicians realized that richie hawtin's decadent minimal techno was not heading for glory in the long run, and i'm a keen believer that in order to move forward one must tilt one's head in retrospective.

while most bedroom djs are for the most part 'jaded' because their sound has not received the attention it deserves, there are alot of good bedroom djs that play for one audience only, themselves. once you realize that following a trend does not lead to much, you realize that trying to please the majority is pointless and absurd. do your own thing, even if no one cares or listens to it.

Why waste any sort of time or energy towards something you dont like when you could be using that time to talk about music that you do like? Do you think for a minute this producer went out of his way to make something you would want to play? Its your opinion, but does it have any weight towards the music itself? When he was producing this album I dont think he said "let me make something for the chinstrokers on TA." So you might not like it or it might not be something your into at the moment, but there are probably hundreds of others who enjoy this music, and maybe its something fresh to them. Not everyone sits in front of an RSS feed of tracks coming out.

More importantly, when I talk about music with my friends and family, I can only think of how little time is wasted on "this sucks, this I wouldnt play, this is generic," we spend 99% of the time talking about music that is good and sharing music that is good. We get furthur in our journey through music that way. When sitting with elders in the family and they put on music, all we hear is good music and the talk about good music. So it boggles my mind the amount of discussion that goes on about music that isnt good or music that people dont like instead of music that is good or music that people do like. What sort of music culture are you guys living if there is so much focus on the negative and neglect of the positive? I can't imagine this sort of culture in a record shop or any place outside of this forum where people talk about music, very unnatural.

The only place in which so much negative discussion of music comes up for me is TA, and sometimes, at festivals or big parties where shit is being played and you happen to walk through it.

I don't know how from a few posts on a message board people deduce that my entire view of music is mostly negative. It's really far from the case. And theres far more discussion on here from me about music I do like than music I don't. 2000 and One happens to be someone I usually like, so when I see an album by him, I'm likely to check it out and pass judgement on it. I'm not the only person in this thread who wasn't into this, and hopefully there won't ever be a time on this forum in which every single thread is 100% positive reviews only.

Your rant reeks of the same thing every single rant of the exact same nature before it has. Insecurity. My opinions, as you stated, have 0 impact on this music. All it means is that some people will read that I don't like this vs. all of the other music that I post about and enjoy (check my post history in this forum). So really, it shouldn't bother you much. Personally I like to see differing opinions, including jubilant, lukewarm and downright negative, from people on the forum because over time you get and interesting idea of each person's individual music taste. There are people on this forum, and I'm sure you probably fit the bill, for whom this music and all music consumes most of their daily lives. We are naturally very opinionated and the variety in those tastes is what makes the forum interesting to me, including the fact that I can disagree strongly over some things with my friends in one case and be on the same exact page in excitement on the next.

So, relax man. I apologize if I come across too strongly, it's not easy on the web.

Nobody thinks the album is shit, nobody thinks the albums is fantastic, there isn't any need for so much drama. We aren't even disagreeing much.

For me, Honey Bush is win, Burnin Dub is cool, rest is a bit forgettable.
