Your jaw would drop if you saw what some of these ******s are charging. I see Pacha's point of view. So many of these big-headed DJs (and worse-off, their agents) think they're worth 10, 20, 30 thousand dollars, whereas in the grand scheme of things many DJs have become irrelevant to not only New York, but the scene in general. No need to shell out those kinda dollars anymore for people who over the years have lost their fame (and the amount of people that would pay 30$+ to see them).

It's more of a generalization, but some of these DJs' fees out there are astronomical, especially the older guys who've been to the top of their game and are finding it hard to lower their price (out of pride or w.e.)... I guess it's clubland's version of laying off, which makes sense in a way.

I completely agree with this. Im not a big fan of Pacha unless someone big is performing there. Had the opportunity to be there cuz a friend wanted to celebrate his birthday there this past Saturday and well, it was very disappointing. Just in the last year Ive seen the attitude change by some of the staff at Pacha. I mean, I know they got Best US Club somewhere but come on. In the end, you want people to come back to the club in the future. Whoever was in there this past Saturday wasnt worth the cover WTF $40? not to mention the $5 tap water, but thats everywhere, of course.

well then if the deejays are over charging with how the econamy is then they shouldn't pay. the deejays should understand people dont have money to spend the high cover charges and then the club wont be able to pay over 10,000.

btw tiesto for 140,000 how can a club even make money on that??????!!!!!!

that seems like an awful lot, even for Tiesto.

but think about how many people probably went to that show...a few thousand. Ticket prices were like $60 if not more I'm sure. Factor in the people who paid for VIP...the door take is easily in the hundreds of thousands.
