Who knows. Andy Kaufman did the same type of wacky shit. However, River Phoenix pulled the same shit back before he od'ed...saying he wanted to leave acting for music, that it was his true calling. So uh, either this is some elaborate fucking prank/attempt at method acting...or he's really sick.

i think hes acting for part of this mockumentary hes doing with casey affleck about an actor that quits to start a rap career...and that falling on stage was staged n shit...and possibly this interview...althought i could be wrong. time will tell...but damn that was a funny and awkward interview

Apparently it's all being filmed and documented .... but details are scarce as of now. who knows really wtf exactly is going on but what I don't understand is why letterman would knowingly let him come on his show to film an interview of him being completely unresponsive.
