99% of people who rant about the UN don't like the General Assembly for representing an agglomeration of views in the developing world rather than the developed world. Those same people almost comically don't realize that the GA is one of the smallest (in terms of funding) and most irrelevant branches of the UN system. Those same people also don't realize the amount of good done by UN organizations, including the World Food Programme, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNESCO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), not to mention the World Bank, World Trade Organization, International Monetary Fund, and regional economic groups under the purview of the UN.

If you'd like the UN to be disbanded, you should be prepared to argue why all of those organizations, as well as the 18 active UN peacekeeping missions, should be eliminated as well.
If you're willing to do that, I'd love the opportunity to have that discussion.
