I love a lot of prog house, but this is pretty mediocre IMO.

I am sorry but this is essential listening for anyone even remotely interested Progressive House.
This track's pure focused energy and sonically detailed production is powerful enough to sum up the feeling of the early millennium progressive house music yet different enough from the rest of tracks of that era to make it exciting and unique!
In fact I would call it a monumental discovery! This track is from its opening moments deep pulsating beat all the way to its lush and evocative vocals that compliment the tracks pervading ambiance, a testament to the rich possibilities of sincerity in music and a landmark of progressive house that is now unfairly lost in the shadow of so many uninteresting minimal records that sound as dull as the word minimal and have not lived up to the promise of resurrecting the underground dance scene or the hopes of the idiots that decided to unleash melody-and-value-free music to the world.

well, that is your opinion and your opinion only. to say that one song is more honest and truthful than an entire generation is daft. your statement does not outweigh all the good music that has been created since the 90s. Yes, you are passionate about a certain song and a certain era but by no means should the rest try to pervade the exact same meaning. times change, and so does music...everything evolves, nothing stays the same...

and at the same time i think i agree to some extent to the fact that minimal has lived up to nothing more than simply...a fad. However, there have been great gems produced over the last couple of years, John Tejada for example. Josh Wink and Hardfloor come to mind aswell...

Consciously or not the electro minimal genre that was marketed as a the glorified sound of now by self proclamed 2-cent journalists and payed media whores would face the inevitable, and often unfavorable, comparison with the garage influenced big room NY Progressive House it replaced in record stores.

And so it is practically a given that the energy and emotion of progressive house have not been duplicated here, and in all honestly, probably never will.
The Problem is that it is 09 right now. It has been years since they have been pushing this dull & predictable sound yet no matter how many times these records miserably fail to inspire a viable following, and consequently a fan base that would continue to support the genre, in the face of anemic sales to non existent sales, they doggedly keep promoting these records regardless of whether or not they fall upon deaf ears.

Will dance music be able to regain the strength it had in the early millennium or will it fade into obscurity after the loss of big distributors sponsors physical record stores and djs that play records not as in tracks or songs but as in those big round black things you put needles on?
