I can't give you any advice, since I've never played live in front of people (besides an office party that i never should have done, lol) but I can tell you that these gigs are probably the best to get when starting out, given that you are actually capable of playing a long set without choking.
Music is not so loud, you get to play in front of people, and since noone is really focusing 100% on the music you don't have the pressure of getting everything perfect. Perfect setting to get experience.
This is exactly the type of gig I will be pursuing once I decide to get out and play live. Best of luck mate, and tell us how it went
just be casual about it , dont push yourself TOO much to make a good impression it'll come naturally mate
best of luck

Wow man, let us know how it goes. Nervousness can be helpful to get you pumped up, but try to stay calm and collected. My first gig I was freaking out but it turned out alright, it's important to stay confident.

relax and only do the gig if you really think you are ready for it.
Sometimes if people rush into gigs, they can leave a bad impression that will stick with them no matter how good they become. I am not calling you shit or anything, but i know you are really new at this
defitnely, thnx for the feedback, and i wouldnt be doing this if i felt i wasnt ready for it. i am new to it, but ive done it enough to feel comfortable around a pair of decks.

Yeah, I know. It happens. If it happens at home when you're just chillin' and mixing some tunes without a care in the world it is definitely bound to happen when you have the pressure of playing in front of people, lol.

When I did it, luckily it was a small-time gig with a few handfuls of friends.... so I got a few friendly jeers and scoldings.

If I had a nickel for every time I picked up the wrong needle at a gig...
