We will always have vinyl. But the digital side of things (CDs) will be a dead format in the next 5 years. Same fate awaits DVD/Blu-Ray. Everything will go to hard drives and downloads.
Djs and true music connoisseurs will never let companies stop producing vinyl versions though.

I certainly don't hope so. I personally rather spend hours burning as opposed to using time coded cd's. So much easier and less distracting, IMHO.

whats wrong with laptops, other than that theres no skill involved because they beat-match for you?
doesnt that only help you to control the flow of your set better since u save time ud otherwise spend beatmatching?

No. Beatmatching is the easiest part of DJing. It shouldnt take too long in the first place.
There will be evolutions to DJing, but nothing is going to be phased out.
