I'm assuming that you are talking about earplugs. Wouldn't the translucent red make it look like your ears are bleeding?

ok so after months of wearing my earplugs everytime im @ the bar, I think ive noticed my hearing getting better...but now, I dont think the plugs are working as well. I know they need replacing for the stems everynow and then..but I cant seem to figure out how often.

im @ the bar 3-4 nights a week. Wearing the earplugs a good 4-5 hours most nights.

Ok i'm confused...i'm looking at the website and they look like normal earplugs but what the heck is the cord for on the ER-4 model?? And when you say they shouldn't affect your mixing, why are you wearing them if you have closed headphones??

When i go out i normally just use the squishy earplugs you get at shooting ranges or constructions sites. Are these things heaps better??

Okay, the ER-20's are earPLUGS. The ER6 and the ER4 are inside-the-ear-canal earPHONES. That's right, the ER4 and the ER6 are closed headphones...

The ER20's are great cause they block out all outside noises evenly, so only the dangerous peaks are lessened -- you can still hear the music how it was meant to be heard with ER-20's on, but just safely.

So, use big closed isolating headphones for mixing, and use er-20's for when you are at loud places, but not actually mixing.

Check it all out at www.etymotic.com

you would need to keep your headphones on the entire time (both cups)

i dont know about you...but when i spin i only have the right cup partially over my ear. i need to listen to the monitors with the other

im not sure what ur setup is but most venues you will have at least 2 huge speakers blasting in your ears....that way you dont spin to the echos

How about isolating headphones at medium volume on one ear, and an earplug in the other, lol??

I have the ear closest to the monitor speaker fully in the can and the other ear out. And just adjust the volume on the monitors to something i can handle. I do carry earplugs just in case they have a fixed monitor level though and for before and after!! The way the statement about mixing was worded it sounded like they were talking about wearing them inside the headphones.
