I'm not sure what to think of the highlander remake. it could either be really good or really shit (I suppose that can be said of all the upcoming remakes). but with the way the series took a dive...it could turn out to be a breath of fresh air, and re-boot the entire franchise in a positive way. the only thing that scares me so far is that it's produced by the same guys who did the last few sequals.

what they should do is instead of reamking the original; just re-air the original, like they did w/ the Exorcist.
add in a few "never before scenes" and call it a director's cut and put the original back on the air.
but no. everyone nowadays wants crappy computery special affects and modernization.

20th Century Fox presents Brown Dawn, a tale of n'er-do-good Jihadists parachuting into a suburban high school in mid-day, only to be thwarted by guerilla tactics and the indomitable American spirit!

I do believe he said Thanos: The Hands Of Fate. What is so difficult about this?
What Ygrene is clearly suggesting is that a remake should be made before even the original is. That's innovative filmmaking if you ask me. We could use more creativity like this in the entertainment industry.

Remakes take a special kind of vision.
These hollywood executives aren't made of trillions of dollars and don't approve of everything that come across their desk. At their core, they are just as much artists as directors and porn starlets. They've rejected many of my screenplays, half of them being remake attempts of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. It's because they have a strict standard of quality. They have to see a director and screenplayer writer who isn't simply creating a direct copy of a successful film, but a brand new vision, a brand new presentation, with more explosions and attention grabbing soundtracks.
