I went into it not knowing exactly what to expect aside from a few tracks I knew. It turned out that the version of "Walking Machine" you used was completely different from the one I heard before on Adam Freeland's GU
The mixing was kinda loose on this one but given the whole vibe of the set and the type of music, it worked (just like on the Lovebirds Betalounge set).
One thing that I want to point out is that this is by far one of the funnest sets to listen to that I've ever had the pleasure of listening. It has this relaxed, "fuck it, we'll do it live" feeling which is awesome. I bet you had the time of your life recording it.
To be honest, I could have done without the 10 or so minute segment in the middle of glitchy, bleepy, bloopy stuff in the middle but other than that it was great man. So fun, so 80's, so funky, so fresh sounding. Really loved it Sam, well done.
Now on to part two! |
Thanks a lot man
That's exactly what I was going for. I was debating even doing Part 1 since the tracks would be all over the place in terms of structure and mixing. Decided that mixing that way would be pretty cool though, since it's sort of an 80s style of mixing and it fit the tracks :P
That bleepy one is probably Cat on the Rain, had to put that in cause the little kitten sounds make me laugh every time I hear it.
