Current electronic music, yes. With very few exceptions.

Do you have any opinions of your own?

Of course I disagree with what he said. There are records from the early nineties that still get played out and the people still love them so electronic music is not disposable what HAS made electronic music disposable nowdays is the lack of quality control.
Back when the scene was vinyl people had to cut records and spend real money.
That is the best filter right there.
They were not going to cut a tune unless they felt it was really good and it was going to sell

I completely agree. I'd say dance music, regardless of age/format, is mostly disposable. Out of all the tracks that were released last year, how many did you buy? Out of all those how many can you still remember? Out of all THOSE how many do you still play? Probably not much.

i dont see what it has to do with electronic music, its very contradictious as most vinyls are edm. i also think that edm is more timeless that most other genres and it goes longer back than 2001, i often listen to edm-albums from 1994 etc. now whats disposable is singles, they are garbage when stand alone imo, both edm and others. just look at pop singles, it doesnt last more than two months at max, while full edm albums might last a decade. its true that most edm is garbage tho but not any more than other genres.

The irony being that back when dance music was vinyl-based 95% it went out of print after two years and was lost to history, where as an MP3 link can stay on a website for decades.

anything can be disposable if you don't assign any value to it...

Beatport sells a lot of disposable music, of that there is no doubt

I like to play the non-disposable cross-section of electronic music.
