I'm not sure what this thread is acctually about, but if you are trying to extract the vocal from that tune, it will never work. That tune has too many elements, and the vocal is too mixed in inside the other stuff and it just won't work.
But i'm not entirerly sure that that's what this thread is about so maybe I should get a nice hot cup of shut the hell up or something. |
I'm not trying to extract it from that tune, it was just an example I provided from lining up the waveforms of an original song and its instrumental that I had. It only really lines up for like 0.01 of a second, and then it quickly mis-aligns through time and that is what I was inquiring about, why two so-called identical (with the exception of one not having the vocals) tracks weren't really that identical in that perspective.
I'm sure if I tried lining up just two of the same song, maybe two differently compressed files then I would have the same thing happening, and I wouldn't get flamed for asking the same question for that example.

ok the poor guy wants help so i will help
in pro tools..
1: line up instrumental and vocal track on 2 seperate tracks
2: open up a plugin that will let you " flip " the phase on the vocal track
3: add gate and play with the sound till you get what your looking for
wont come out perfect good if you wanna sample small vocal clips
also
in ableton or other programs turn off the warp and make sure both instrumental and vocal tracks are digital
for example
buy the vocal and instrumental off beatport so you know the quality and everytihng will be the same VS ripping the vinyl which wont come out as clean sometimes
hope this helps
dont understand why everyone has to hate on him for asking a question. every great producer was once in his shoes asking questions.

People hate on him because they are fucking idiots. This guy didn't ask how to rip an acapella from a track, his question didn't even *sound* like he did. But some idiots seen the word "acapella" and decided that he was trying to steal vocals from a track.
If i made a thread called "cracking these drums" they would come in talking about piracy, despite the fact that the thread would be about adding a snap to my percussions. Which is obvious just from the title of the thread.

I feel compelled to bring this up.
Was gonna post this a few days back, I don't fully understand the process yet. But the guy seems adament that you can remove anything from a track using photoshop.
It's NOT a piss take either.
I intend to read into this more, but if someone else knows more presently, please share.
Either way fucking ill skills.
