I popped in for a bit at about 1:45.. it was pretty tech house.. not really my bag.. kinda spacey.

at 2:15 or so he went more in a housey direction and it got REALLY good! had me dancing!

I dont know... I am a bit disappointed.

Liked a lot of the track selection but the whole set seemed inconsistent. At times it was high energy and everyone was dancing and then other moments it got weird and boring and blehh. I left before he finished - something I rarely do.

I liked Jeffs set better... the last bit was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet

... not much of a review... I need sleep.

You're not completely off the mark on this one, agree with you to some extent. If I had 2 complaints, it was that the set really did not build (the last track could have easily been the first and vice versa) and when he did try to change things up with vocals, minimal sounds etc it really didn't flow. Still, alot of those basslines sounded really nice on FW's speakers and it seemed like the people that were there really enjoyed themselves. No complaints on the night, was fun.

I must say I was excited about this night, and had loved his promo set, 4 tracks in which I was really hoping to hear through out the night.

We got in just at 11 ish, no line no problems quite inside… however jeff button was already well into the opener…

Jeff Buttons Opening set was what I described as very appropriate for James Talk, at times mellow and groovy, and towards he picked it up and was banging out the tunes hard and had everyone that was just standing around move into the dance floor …

James Talk arrived had a few drinks and started his set around 1 ish a bit late if I recall ( did not bother me at all, it wasn’t like we were short of good tunes)

My overall feeling from Jame’s set was inconsistent, one moment I would be dancing for while with a huge grin on my face and the next id be standing there not feeling the same vibe I did before, or something was slightly off.

All in all I think I got what I wanted, there were no regrets in the night, and he is obviously a very talented dj however I think I may of had created very high expectations. As well there were so many friendly faces around it was nice, great to meet some of you, re meet others, or just hang out with some…. Luckily I had heard the 4 tracks I desperately wanted to hear on the dance floor, so I left around 3 ish and headed to Milk Run to catch Nick Curlys set.

i had a great night out at Footwork from the get go! Jeff Button played a fun opener . I grooved to that for quite a while till James Talk got on. He was kind of wishy washy musically, if that makes sense, but no real complaints other than that.

i can't believe u guys had complaints about him! i truely believe he's one of the best out there. He totally met my expectations this time around. In fact, i might have liked this set better than his one at Mod Club. Both were up there for me. This set was DARKER. Def. more techno than i remember hearing from him at Mod Club....and lots of deep basslines that sounded great over the FW sound system. I think he's really good at skipping between different genres, but keeping to a spec. "mood" in each of his sets. I personally embrace his inconsistencies, although the only inconsistencies i see with him is that he's not loyal to one genre. You can't expect to always hear the same sounding set from him...which is great! His sets don't seem to be the kind of sets u can predict ahead of time...i love that element of surprise. His music taste is broad, but he knows how to tie it all together to create one mood and one direction....and i really respect him as a well rounded DJ. And his track selection is always pretty wow. Everyone i talked to afterwards said they were really impressed, and everyone seemed to have had a great night all together. Jeff's set was great too. Jeff's sound is very complimentary to James'. I was really happy to see that he was the one opening for him! GREAT NIGHT. It was def. one of my fav. nights at FW music wise...very satisfied. He's officially my #2, right after Sasha!

You know, I thought it was great. His first hour was a little bit "stock" for me, but into the second hour he just seemed to be on a role with some great techy tracks and wonderful deep basslines.

I will say, I've heard more interesting music before - but, I had a really good time dancing, and a really good time watching him spin. All around was a solid evening for me - I had to leave at around 3, which was too bad, but such is life with a little boy to take care of!

Button's set, especially the last 30-45 minutes, was great - really good warm up.
