apparently, bmw f1 engineers calculated that the new KERS system could shave up to 0.6 seconds off a lap for a circuit like Imola.

apparently, if triggered wrongly on turns, it could be fatal too...

expect more crashes this season hurting several teams with the 8 car limit

^ nevermind that they can't put the mass where they want it whereas the Brawn car can (for this season only though).

I think the biggest cause of incidents will be people tripping over the snowplow front wings on the opening laps.

The in-car moveable front wing elements are cool beans though.

KERS will be triggered on the straights of course. Kubica said it will be automated once the season starts.
Anyways apart from the laptime gains, the downside is bigger tyre degradation.
