What an aweful thing to say!!!! This is Germany vs. Saudi Arabia Pt.2, except a little bit less goals this time around. No miracles exsist when playing Germany, so therefore the States WILL LOSE! GO GERMANY GO!!

First off, I live in Los Angeles. Once there was a match between USA vs. Mexico. Guess who had the home field advantage. I think the US will have to wait at least 20 years before they get a good shot at the cup. As for 2006, sorry to say this but Germany will kick ass. It would be a shame for them to lose in front of their home crowd.

If you look at Poland, they were dominant in the 70's and 80's and got 2nd place along with two 3rd places. How frustrating. If anyone deserves the WC, it's teams like Poland, Portugal, Spain and previous World Cup winners. No offense, but teams like USA, Korea, Japan, Senegal, and Turkey shouldn't win.

For example, look at Korea. They won their first ever WC match two weeks ago. For them to win the World Cup this year would totally suck. I mean don't get me wrong, I like them, but other teams deserve it more. Besides, the final match is in Japan. If Korea gets that far, they'll wish they were back home.

What's totally fucked up is that USA has all this money to create a great team, that they have a better chance to win the WC than some of the other countries out there, but they will never have a better chance to win the WC over the elite soccer teams out there, and we all know who they are.

Nevertheless, I'm still going for USA. How ironic. I wouldn't mind seeing Germany, Spain, or England win the cup. I like Brazil too, but they already have enough trophies. Time for someone else to win it. Lates.//

plain and simple for why Soccer isn't big in the US. It IS NOT MADE for TV broadcasting. There's no time off for ads, only two periods, the game just doesn't stop. That's why it will never get big there. TV coverage brings money for ads, news coverage, special shows, etc etc its all a big media machine. For example, Hockey got bigger and bigger in the US in the last 10 years because basicly it got customized for american tv, any canadian fellow will understand exactly what I mean by that (games in the afternoon, or no games when there's a big football game, etc.).

Its sad but TV decides of what's on and what's off.

BTW: soccer is the most practiced sport by young canadians, far off ahead of hockey or any other sport... but where's the coverage?

US played damn well agaist germany my hats go off to them ..... the players live soccer like any other players of anywhere else .... but i guess most people like me even though im half american/german dont full rout for them is US doesnt take the game to serious it will always be secondary sport for this country and the world doesnt want to see them win and beat countries where soccer is the biggest thing to them..... i just one day this country would take it more serious ..but for the american players they played great agaist germany but they just need to be one step higher to beat a team like germany ....

Being an American who played Soccer (futbol) his whole life I can say that there are in fact many people in the U.S. who love soccer. I woke up early for each and every game. I just hope that the top players in the U.S. opt not to go over to European leagues and that they stay here for the MLS. That way the quality of soccer being viewed by Americans will be more entertaining and skillful. We have some young stars who can and will be a national force in years to come. Many people over here are ignorant to such a beautiful sport in soccer. I hope that one day people over here will finally realize that Soccer is clearly the top sport in the world. People have started to wake up to this now that the U.S. Team had a good showing this World Cup. I hope that by the time Germany 2006 comes around that the following will only be much bigger. SOCCER RULES!

Guys, this world is moving towards globalization. Soon, every country with a good sports program will be competitive in whatever sport they choose. There's a big increase in multiculturalism in professional sports, and we're seeing the rise of african and asian teams in soccer. Hockey is no longer dominated by Canada and Russia, and give it time, maybe a long time, but eventually Basketball will no longer be dominated by USA, as popularity increases worldwide.
