I'd like to think I'm at the point where I influence myself these days, but way back when it was "The Wizard" a.k.a. Jeff Mills and Fumiya Tanaka, then Claude Young. I listened to Mills' and Tanaka's Mix-Up CDs over and over, trying to decipher the three-deck insanity that was going on (some parts of those mixes still blow me away) and work that same kind of intensity into my own sets. I then had the pleasure of hearing Claude Young, who took DJing and turntablism to a whole new level - the man was a master of improvisation.

Plenty of other names I could name - Murat, Theo Parrish, Traxx, Ben Sims, Marco Carola (before he went all soft and mnml) are a few who come to mind - in all likelyhood, I probably learn a little something from every DJ who catches my attention.

Oh man my influences are too many to number. Click on that music box thing on my profile to get an idea of the non-edm stuff thats influenced me.

In terms of DJ's, Quivver has been the biggest influence in what I try to spin/listen to.

I would have to say the old Funky Tekno Tribe!

Dan, Glaude, and Weaver. Especially Barry Weaver! This guy's skill and work-rate on the decks (3 of them), was phenomenal!

Fav memory of him was: BARRY WEAVER v DJ DAN - STEEL CAGE MATCH!

Absolutely MENTAL! I miss that kind of shit!

Steve, Wayne, make it happen. *wishing so harrrd*

+100,000,000!!!!

Those were wicked times...

Glaude blew me away at Wicked 97 (I think) and then Weaver came on after and just kept it going!!!!

Not as funky as that anymore.....

I heard he was the real producer of Sandstorm. But then Darude offered him a cowboy hat in exchange for the rights to his song.

Everyone knows who my biggest one is. ( While I haven't been as much of a fan of Barbara's individual track selection in recent years, what I have always admired about her is just her willingness to go in a direction that satisfies her as an artist, even if not what her fans want. She's done this twice now, and I respect her for it because people have been really harsh about it. Whatever she does decide to do, she gives it 100% and stays true to what she wants.

I also admire how she doesn't put up with anyone's bullshit and has never paid attention to being a woman in a male dominated industry. I got to know her a little bit back in 03 or 04 I guess, right around when I was really into DJing, and she was a huge inspiration.

Musically, Adam Beyer has also really influenced me, I have always loved the layering he does with his tracks and his track selection is always bang on.
