Just to toss it out there again, Albino is a god send for pads. If I had to have only one synth in my arsenal it would be Albino.

I always use either the V-Station or my Virus C for pads.

I would say Albino 3 , you can get really nice sounds from it

For those analog saw pads , you might want to try Vanguard and Gladiator.
Gladiator might also be good for other kind of pads , It uses a unique HCM synthesis.

No offence, though, we do understand your opinion, but when you pay up to 400 Euros for a softsynth (of course when you are a legit customer), you have to know what you're paying for. Omnisphere, Albino, fm8, Alchemy all deliver on that point. Many others do. Not in terms of presets only, but also in terms of features. Best deal is Camel Audio's Alchemy for me at this time. Simply amazing how you can import your own sample and make a pad of a drumloop for example. :-)

Well, I think in pretty much 99.9% of all cases where someone is asking a very basic question such as this. They arn't paying for their synths and thus very likely have no skill what so ever in using the big synths. It would be better to use something simple to learn on.

If someone is going to dish out hundreds of dollars for software, they likely already know how to use it.

Its like on deviantart, people ask incredibly basic question about photoshop... "Yeah, you "paid 999$" for photoshop and don't know what a pen tool is?"... [obviously they didn't pay if they are asking such a simple question. a quick browse through the manual could answer that]

Name a big producer that didn't start out with simple stuff, then name a big producer that doesn't still use simple stuff a lot of times.

Even funnyer, Cubase SX3 questions.... [why haven't you upgraded?..start listeing those excuses :P]

First, I think that's a pretty wrong assumption, but that's not the point. Why would you recommend somebody 3xOSC (I'm sure it's a great softsynth), if it isn't available as stand-alone, it's only embedded in FL.

So basicly, you just told somebody to warez FL, now who's to blame

lol

Now this is something I have to respond to, since I'm a SX3 user. Never heard of 'never change a winning team'. Why should I upgrade (I'm going to when I get my tax refund, but that's not the issue), if it works great for me!

I own SX3, and I am able to get SX4 with the grace period, but I haven't as well.

3OSC isn't limited to one DAW. It doesn't even "belong" to anyone as far as I know. You can get 3OSC synths for free on google :P

For the Cubase thing, when it comes to most [like the 90%-98% range] people who ask questions about it who arn't using http://www.steinberg.net don't legitimately own it. Same with any other DAW that has a closed forum. Why would someone NOT use the obviously better place, the service they paid hundreds of dollars for, and instead ask on a generally nooby site [such as TA] for advice on how to use a DAW?

Name a producer as big as Tiesto using Joes Trance Shack for their DA@W support needs and not the forum provided with what ever daw they might use. And once you figure that out, you will know why there is a gap between the big guys and the "my free album is popular" guys..

I dont recall spending hundreds of dollars for the support services of Steinberg... Just hundreds for their software.

I'd post here because I like TA and people do use Cubase, legit or not, if they can help who cares.

You did pay for their services, access to their forum is a service, and those who buy cubase have it. The differences is most people at stienberg know what they are talking about....here, not so much, just look at some of the other threads..

I thought you meant 3xOSC, that's FL only, so basicly what you mean is any type synth using 3 OSC, that's really helpfull ..

Sure, I can go over to the Steinberg forum to ask for help, but TA kinda became my first reference point regarding questions, also Cubase related. I actually never been to the Steinberg forums, I could always find somebody here to help me sort out my things.

I don't agree with you (again ). There are lots of experienced producers here, maybe not as in releasing track, but sure in knowing what they are talking about. If you been a while on this board, you get to know some people, and know if they can help you with your thing, so why post on the Steinberg forum and 'wait' for help while at TA it's right around the corner.

I also think you underestimate the forum members here, if you saying that the knowledge here is 'not so much'. I'm really sorry you feel that way! As said, not everyone is a experienced producer, but by posting here they are trying to become.

On TA people generally have knowledge of "How do I make this sound, what is compression..etc etc".. not in how to use software. The only software related questions are "this thing is broke, how to fix?" Over all Id say its not the most professional place around.

Also, TA is one of the few music forums that doesn't have a music theory forum or sub forum. What does that tell you? And it hardly gets discussed in this forum.

TA is not a production forum, its a trance forum with 2 subforums related to music production.

If you want music theory and all that other stuff go visit KVR or something.
