Excellent advice.... Bass first, the 80watts speakers are fine, add bass and you'll be much happier.. Then later get bigger speakers, but only if you get a good amp to power them...

Much better to have 5 same brand speakers that are 100w each, instead of 2-3 different brands in varying w...

But thats mostly for cinema viewing, if you want good speakers for trance... Get big fronts (3 ways) and power them with enough juice... I'd go for 200-300w fronts if you have a normal sized room, and make sure you have a good amp to power something like that...

I have a friend in Iceland with 2 cerwin vega 1000w fronts! They are absolutely insane! He even used to live in an apartment block, volume 3 was the highest he could go

hey Thor..thanx first....but whats "adding bass" ? i get the part about 500 watts + amps...

how do i add bass...i use some DSP plugins (SRS WOW Plugin)in Winamp...they greatly improve sound quality.were u talking hardware ?

and one more thing...if i buy speakers with independent power chord doesnt that mean they have built-in amp ??

Oh your talking computer sound system Well there I'm no expert, sorry, I thought you were talking home theater stuff.... But you can add a sub or bass box to your computer.... My set up has one and its really cool, but its still a baby compared to my home theater

dude...i've got my comp hooked to my aiwa system...thats how i get 80 watts...i think i'll chek out the adding a sub to my comp....
My home theatre is in my Hostel room....making a hostel theatre ! cos i cant blast off at my home...i live in flats.i record mixes from comp and take it to my hostel to listen

I hope i don't fall asleep...i'm at work LOL....i have a sub that i use for home theater and for music...it gives trance tunes so much kick...as for ur computer u should get the new sound card from hercules, i've read all the reviews and from what has been said its great and has the ability to expand as you get more speakers, i belive it is capable of 6.1 sound(six channels and a sub) and it has many types of inputs and outputs, supposedly its cheaper than the sounblaster platinum, and it also has a central unit where u make all ur connection so u don't have a mess of wires going to the back of ur computer

if i'm not mistaken, vestax released a mixer with the quad stereo imaging capability (that what its called??). that could really take trance to a whole new level.
