As much as i love Pioneer and and the design of most their products, Those are way to MUCH!!!! Ridiculous My next set of headphones is Sony unless I happen to rob a bank sometime soon. Don't get my wrong though, those headphones have some sick features and i wouldn't mind having them.

What do you mean by sick features?

Well I haven't touched them in person yet but i saw videos of them being bent around and such. They look pretty durable. Nothing i could do with my old set. I think they really fixed the weak spots from previous HDJ headphones. They have a detachable cable so you can replace or use for storing the headphones away. imo they don't look as nice as the 1000's but see for yourself. This is a link to one of the videos i saw....

I tried these out at NAMM, and wrote a review:

But yeah, I pretty much agree. Awesome cans, terrible price.

LOVE these so far.

Seem to be so much more flexible and DJ friendly vs. the Sony MDR-7509s that I've been using the past few years.

Don't get me wrong, the Sony's are great- but the HDJ-2000's are really nice.

Great sound, flexible; seem to be very durable, and sleek look.

No regrets with the $ I spent on these.

so what makes these headphones so ridiculously expensive? just that fact that they have pioneer stamped on them?

my guess is that they're good, but a nice chunk of that price tag is just that (the name pioneer), and the fact that they're new.
