pretty good shiz for the most part-moreso at indicating the crappy flicks that have been released. I am more inclined to watching something with a 50 percent higher rating(like if a random movie pops up on tv for example which i havent heard of, ill go to rotten tomatoes for reference).

does have its flaws however.

When i used to live in L.a. most of my friends that were in the industry would check this site religiously . they would tell me is as close as it gets in terms of accuracy.

Me , I like this site , 8 out of 10 times the tomameter is pretty much in accordance to what I thought about a movie.

i generally don't watch things below 50% on rotten tomato. I often rely more on the top critics moreso than the general tomato meter.

why waste time if it sucks?

If a movie is borderline I'll read a review to get a better idea of what the movie is like.

How does a normal person decide if they want to watch a movie without looking at reviews? Advertisements? Most of the time they make a movie look a lot better than it is and some of the time they distort the actual apparent subject matter of a movie.

Roger ebert is the best critic imo.

Love that site. I spend more time reading the forums over there than I do on TA now days. I also hardly ever see a movie that is below 50% unless it was a movie I was waiting for. The quality of movies in the theater has sucked this year though. Lot of big movies in May though.
