Just like Mr.Mystery said there are certain types of music one likes but can't really catalogue into so called "good music".
I'd rate my own music taste as ok.

The people I know that are not into EDM think my taste is shit. Then again, their idea of a good "trance song" is "Alex Gaudino - Destination Unknown".
And I have another friend who is into EDM that has told me that he finds my mixes to be weird and sometimes "gay" sounding. Then again, he listens to ASOT compilations in his car all the time.
I like it all honestly. I listen to Top 40, Hip Hop, Rock, and obviously Dance and Trance.
It's sometimes fun to find those super cheesy records, perplexed and amazed how people actually came up with these "tunes":

I would like to think i have good taste, but I really suppose it depends whose perspective you see it from. People seem to enjoy the sets I put out (even though they tend to represent only a fraction of the type of electronic music that i do i enjoy), and at the end of the day all that matters to me is that i enjoy listening to it now. Life is too short to worry about 10 years from now, but chances are I will be listening to something totally different than today if i look at my past appreciation of musical styles.
That being said, I do not think that anyone who listens exclusively to electronic music can be said to have great taste. A wine lover is never a connaisseur if he only drinks merlot from one part of the world. To me to appreciate good music is being able to appreciate it in its many forms.

There are always guilty pleasures I consider as "bad" even when listening to them but I usually mainly like them because they're too dumb for me to hate.
Other than that, I've always been pretty selective in the music I listen to. One could even call it being somewhat of a musical snob, I guess. I cannot really recall anything I would had listened to in the past that I'd now consider "bad".
Fair point.
More what I was trying to say though, is let's say I listened religiously to happy-hardcore. That's it. That's all I like. If someone came up to me and asked me if I had horrible taste in music, my answer would still be 'no'. Even though from an outside perspective this would more than likely be incorrect answer.
My point was really going on, people like what they like. As long as someone isn't told what to like, they're always going to have a positive interpretation of what hits their ear right.

Yeah, a situation quite similar to this one:

That, and Eurodance.
I just knew someone would say that. But as I've explained earlier, I consider Eurodance, as the abandonment of sophistication, to be the highest level of sophistication in musical taste.
