I had to do this once with Top40 tracks at a school dance in college--downloading them off the school network after being forced to play requests. It was really disheartening though, I don't think I ever DJed another school event after that

kitphillips is totally right--that sort of thing almost instantly makes you just a jukebox rather than a dj...
